Exosome Therapy

Exosome Therapy

One of the benefits of stem cells in medical treatments is their ability to encourage regeneration in the body.

Part of this process includes vesicles known as exosomes, and they’re a huge topic of research for regenerative therapy. Find out more about how Exosome Therapy is making waves in the field of alternative medicine.

What Are Exosomes?

Discovered many decades ago but only recently studied in detail, exosomes are vesicles that are released by cells as a form of communication. These exosomes can send a variety of different signals to receiving cells, triggering regeneration in parts of the body.
For example, they can command cells to produce a particular protein, or initiate the repair process.

Regeneration as an alternative treatment for medical conditions has been increasing in popularity and have led to the field of Exosome Therapy. Exosome Therapy has been used to treat a range of medical conditions that may otherwise not respond to other types of treatment.

Exosome Therapy for Medical Conditions

Exosome therapy first involves culturing stem cells that are associated with a repair mechanism in the body. Since stem cells can divide indefinitely in the undifferentiated state, it’s possible to make a lot of them for the same purpose.

After a certain amount of stem cells has been cultured, the next step is extracting the exosomes that trigger cellular activity, such as repair or production of other cells.

Finally, the resulting exosomes, primed and ready for signaling, can be injected into the target tissue site for the desired effect, promoting healing and relief of symptoms from certain medical conditions.

Benefits of Exosome Therapy

Exosome therapy shows promise in alleviating many conditions through their regenerative properties.
Exosome Therapy has been used to heal:

  • Bone Fractures
  • Cancer symptoms
  • Cartilage issues
  • Muscle tears and strains
  • Wounds
  • Neurogenerative diseases
  • Genetic disorders
  • And more…

At the same time, exosomes are also being tested as a drug delivery mechanism. Exosomes have a particular property that allows various molecules to stick to their surfaces. Combined with their function of being absorbed by other cells for signaling and transmission, and they become an ideal delivery system for certain drugs.
